Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 sticks margarine

  • 2 eggs

Icing

  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons hot water

Decor

  • fresh or dried flowers

  • ribbon of your choice

Directions

Prepare the Cookie Dough

1.

Mix all the ingredients until a smooth dough forms. This can be done by hand.

2.

Refrigerate for one hour. Roll out the dough on baking paper and cut into your desired shapes using any cookie cutter you like. Use a mini cutter for the inside of the cookie to match your theme or name.

3.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes. Allow to cool completely.

Prepare the Icing

1.

In a medium-sized bowl, mix the confection sugar, water and oil until the texture is smooth and stiff.

Assemble

1.

Spread the icing on the cookies. Add the flowers and ribbon bow while wet. Allow to dry completely.

Notes:

If using fresh flowers, this can be done three days before your occasion. Baby’s breath can last up to three days without water.

Use a toothpick to clean off any icing drips around the cookie.

Once the icing is on the cookies, store them in a cool place. Do not freeze or refrigerate.
