Taco Seasoned Chicken

Arrow

This chicken preparation is full of great taste in every bite. The cooking method is slighly different but this way the chicken is enveloped in flavor on all sides. Whats more: 1-2-3 and it’s in the oven.

Directions

Make the Chicken

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Place chicken thighs on top and sprinkle with taco seasoning. Place in oven. Bake for an hour and a half covered and half an hour uncovered.
3. Clean chicken and pat dry. Place onion and garlic in the bottom of a 9- x 13-inch (20- x 30-centimeter) baking pan. Spread the tomato paste on the onions. Drizzle with honey.
4. As soon as you remove from the oven, turn chicken pieces over – skin side down – and let sit for a few minutes before serving. I warm it up this way as well. Serve over rice, bulgur, or farfel.

Tips:

I make my own taco seasoning – it has less sodium, and no MSG or sugar. Use 2 teaspoons chili 1/4 teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, 1/4 teaspoon each onion powder, garlic powder, oregano and crushed red pepper, pinch cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon corn starch, pinch coriander optional. Yield: 2 full tablespoons. Delicious on beef too.

Notes:

Increase or decrease amount of seasoning according to your family’s preferences.
