Diets This recipe needs parent supervision in some parts of the recipe. Make sure to bake the flour, and make sure to have fun!
1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated – see below)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons milk (any kind)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips (or more if you like!)
Heat-treat the flour to kill any potential bacteria. Microwave method: Microwave the flour in a bowl for about one to one and a half minutes, stirring every 20 seconds, until it reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius) OR bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees Celsius) for five to seven minutes, stirring halfway. Let it cool completely before using.
In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla and milk, and mix well.
Stir in the cooled flour and salt until a dough forms.
Fold in chocolate chips.
