When the menu is full of meat mains- try this turkey burger for something fresh and different.
Yield: 12 burgers
1 small onion, diced
1 tablespoon oil
3 cloves garlic, crushed or 3 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
2 pounds ground turkey (or 1 pound turkey and 1 pound chicken)
1 teaspoon parsley
1 and 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon Glicks Ketchup
2 teaspoons Gefen Lemon Juice
1 egg white, slightly beaten
In a small saucepan over medium heat, sauté onion in oil for seven to 10 minutes, until onion is soft and translucent.
Add garlic and sauté an additional minute until fragrant.
Set aside to cool.
In a medium bowl, combine turkey, spices, ketchup, lemon juice, egg white, and cooled onion mixture.
Mix until just combined.
Form meat mixture into patties and place on a lined baking sheet.
Refrigerate for a half hour before grilling.
Heat grill to medium heat, place burgers onto grill, and grill for five to seven minutes on each side, until fully cooked.
Depending on thickness of patties and heat of grill, you may need to adjust cooking time. Serve with your favorite toppings in a burger bun.
