- SesameMy cousin Jaclyn S. is not only a most inspiring teacher, incredible mother, and dedicated wife, she is also a hostess with the mostest who has an extraordinary hand in the kitchen. One Shabbos, Jaclyn made a salad with avocado and za’atar which inspired this fresh and delicious dish.
1 container cherry tomatoes, sliced
2 avocados, diced
1/2 jalapeño pepper, minced
1/4 cup red onion, minced
2 cloves garlic, crushed or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
1 can hearts of palm, sliced
1 teaspoon Pereg Za’atar
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
juice of 1/2 a lemon
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
2 tablespoons Gefen Olive Oil
sesame seeds, for garnishing
Combine all ingredients except sesame seeds. Allow to meld about 30 minutes for best flavor, or serve right away, topped with sesame seeds.
