Diets This isn’t your average avocado salad. Creamy avocado, crisp tart apple, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lemon come together for the perfect balance of rich, bright, and crunchy. It’s the kind of side dish that disappears surprisingly fast — light enough for a weekday meal, but pretty enough to earn a spot on the Shabbos table. One bite and you’ll wonder why apples and avocado aren’t paired together more often.

3 to 4 Hass avocados, not hard but not too soft, peeled and cut to medium-size chunks
1 medium to large clove of garlic, crushed, or 1 cube Gefen Frozen Garlic
lemon juice from 1/2 a juicy lemon
5 stems of fresh, washed cilantro, thinly chopped (or 2 cubes of Gefen Frozen Cilantro)
1 medium-size Granny Smith apple (or any other hard, dense apple), peeled and cut to small cubes (optionally, you could save the peel to create little flowers to decorate for serving)
salt, to taste
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and add the apples last. Mix again and serve.
