Kick off your journey to a healthier lifesyle with this ten-day challenge to go sugar free!

Hi! I’m Rorie, the founder of Full ‘n Free, recipe developer, health coach, and creator of Rorie’s unique dough mixes. At Full ‘n Free, my work with clients is always an educational process, very different than the “diet” mentality. I teach clients how the body reacts to specific ingredients, and how to tune in to the body’s messages. These skills allow people to become independent eaters who make educated and goal-oriented choices.

I want everyone to be able to live full and free, and feel fabulous. That’s why I’ve joined forces with the team at Kosher.com. Together, we invite you to join Reset with Rorie!, a ten day sugar reset challenge! The reset will give you an opportunity to say “goodbye” to that bloated feeling, break free of the post-donut sugar-crash cycle, and feel amazingly energized. You’ll also reset your taste buds and start experiencing ordinary foods in an extraordinary way.

How do I do the reset?

During the reset period, you’ll be eliminating sugar from anything you eat and drink. But don’t let that scare you; I’ve done this with my clients many times, and it is an incredibly liberating experience. The effects of the reset are dramatic; you’ll be surprised at how great food tastes once you’ve reclaimed your taste buds. You may also notice that some of your old sweet-tooth favorites no longer appeal to you, and suddenly seem too sweet!

The reset process is totally eye-opening and can even be life changing. While avoiding added sugars, you’ll get into the habit of reading every food label. You’ll begin to understand the effect of the ingredients that you put into your body, and become a more educated and mindful eater.

Reset with Rorie! will help you learn to pause and make conscious decisions before eating. You’ll get to know a whole new you; a you who stops to consider before tossing a sugary dressing on your salad or a sugary sauce over your protein, a you who not only looks great, but feels great. As a result of your reset, you’ll be empowered on your journey to become a deliberate and mindful eater.

Getting ready to reset?

The guidelines are very simple:

  1. No added sugar or sweetners. No artificial sugar, either, since we are trying to reset our cravings for sweetness. That means

NO sugar, cane sugar, honey, high fructose corn syrup, maple syrup, molasses, silan, splenda, xylitol, stevia, truvia, fructose, sucrose, etc.

If something says “Sugar Free”, it can contain sugars other than white sugar, so make sure to read the complete ingredients list!

You can use any product you usually use, so long as it doesn’t contain sugar. Watch out for ketchup, mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, marinara sauce, many other sauces, salad dressing, nut butters, cereals, breads, jam, chips, popcorn, protein powders, and yogurts. Beware all things packaged, and read your ingredients!

  2. You can eat up to two whole fruits a day. A fruit serving can be up to one cup of fruit, mixed or otherwise. If you put a cup of fruit into a smoothie, that is one of your servings. The reason we are limiting fruit is because it contains natural sugar. Although fruit also contains fiber and water, which helps metabolize the natural sugar it contains, eating too much fruit will not allow you to gain the full benefits of the reset.

The Reset with Rorie challenge begins January 1, 2018, and lasts for ten days. You’ll be getting more guidance and tips by email after you join. (“What about Shabbos?” “What if I’m pregnant or nursing?” We’ve got answers, don’t worry.)

Set for Success

Keeping a strong focus will help you master the challenge and achieve the results you want. During the challenge, you may experience some sugar cravings, but try not to fill up on nutrient-empty carbs and starches as a response! Instead, combine complex carbohydrates (like whole grains or starchy vegetables), with protein, healthy fats and healthy oils. This will help you feel satisfied and get past those cravings.

It’s also important to stay super-hydrated during your reset. Make sure you are drinking the equivalent of half of your body weight in ounces of water and getting enough sleep. Keep your workouts light, and don’t do intense exercise during your reset period, especially the first few days.

When you join the 10-day challenge, you’ll be a part of the Reset with Rorie! family on Kosher.com! Get loads of Rorie Recommended and kosher.com recipes for sugar-free, flavorful meals and snacks, and have your questions answered during three live Q&A sessions on @kosherdotcom with Rorie. We’ll keep in touch daily with Instagram Stories @fullnfree where you’ll find tips to deal with those sugar cravings, lots of helpful information, and plenty of moral support!
