Diets There’s nothing like meat and potatoes. Here, they both get a burst of flavor from the onions and spices. The minute steak comes out melt-in-your-mouth soft from the long, slow cooking time, which makes it particularly irresistible.
2 onions, peeled and thinly sliced
4 (4-oz.) slices minute steak
2–3 medium white potatoes, cut in 1-inch slices
boiling water
2 bay leaves
2 teaspoons Gefen Onion Powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
1 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Heat a wide stainless steel pan over medium heat. Pan-fry the onions, without oil, constantly stirring until they wilt and turn a deep amber color.
Add the minute steak and cook on each side until mostly cooked through, about 4 to 5 minutes per side.
Arrange the sliced potatoes around the meat and add enough boiling water to almost cover the mixture. Season with the bay leaves, onion powder, garlic powder, coriander, salt, and pepper. Cover the pan and reduce heat to low.
Simmer until the sauce has thickened and most of the water has evaporated, about 30 to 40 minutes. Serve hot.

Can this be frozen?
I would suggest making this fresh, but if you really want to freeze it, note that the potato texture would change. You can try freezing the meat and onions separately, then reheat gently to keep the meat from drying out.
Loved this recipe. It was so easy to make and my husband abseloutely loved it
We’re so happy to hear that!
No potatoes If making this recipe without potatoes, would water amount change?
Advance? Can this be made in advance and reheated? Also would it come out different if made in pan other than stainless steel
I think it would dry out.
