These serve beautifully and are simple to pull together without using any store-bought preservative-laden doughs. Serve with a scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of a caramel for a fantastic finish to your meal. Yield: 12 dumplings
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup oil, such as Gefen Canola Oil
2 teaspoons Haddar Baking Powder
3 cups Glicks Flour
12 apples (Cortland works best), peeled and cored
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons Gefen Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix all dough ingredients to form a firm dough. Roll out dough and cut into 12 pieces that will fully cover the apples.
Place cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. Wrap each apple completely in a piece of dough, then roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture. Place on a lined cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven for one hour or until brown.
Serve warm or at room temp.
