4 cups Glicks Flour
2 teaspoons Haddar Baking Powder
5 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 pound shortening or margarine
1/2 cup orange juice
OR 1 package ready pie dough
2 tablespoons Yehuda Matzo Meal
4 pounds Cortland or sour apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon Gefen Vanilla Sugar
1 teaspoon Gefen Cinnamon
Combine all ingredients for dough, knead until smooth.
Divide in half. Roll out half to 1/4-inch thickness and place into 10- x 16-inch greased pan or cookie sheet.
Sprinkle matzo meal over dough.
Combine apples with remaining ingredients for filling. Spread over matzo meal.
Roll out second half of dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Place over apples.
Prick dough with fork. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour or until done.
