Diets Would it be Chanukah if we weren’t frying something cheesy? Enjoy these cornmeal-battered mozzarella sticks that are fried to perfection, and will become the star at your Chanukah table! For more great ideas, watch Easy Does It!
1 cup yellow corn meal
1 cup Glicks Flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons Haddar Baking Powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 and 1/4 cups milk
18 sticks of mozzarella, cut in half
oil, for frying
Tuscanini Marinara, for dipping
Heat your oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine dry ingredients. Whisk in the egg and milk to make a smooth batter.
Insert a skewer or toothpick into one end of each mozzarella stick and dip into batter, coating completely.
Slowly and carefully drop into hot oil, skewer and all. Fry until golden brown on all sides.
Remove to a paper towel lined dish and enjoy immediately with marinara sauce.
