Ingredients

Beef and Broccoli Ramen

  • 1 and 1/2 pounds meat, such as London broil or flank steak, thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 3 packages Gefen Ramen Noodles

  • 4 cups hot water

  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • 1 package fresh checked broccoli (see note)

Directions

1.

Place the meat into a bowl. Add cornstarch and sesame oil and mix to coat evenly. Set aside.

2.

In another bowl, steep the ramen noodles in four cups hot water.

3.

Place a deep skillet over high heat and add oil. Brown the meat on all sides then remove to a bowl.

4.

Reduce heat to low, add broccoli and 1/3 cup water to the same pan and cover to steam, about two minutes.

5.

Add garlic, ginger, brown sugar, 1/4 cup water and soy sauce. Add the meat and softened ramen noodles. Toss to combine, and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over each serving.

Notes:

You can also use frozen broccoli. Steam it with the water two to three minutes longer than the directions say.
