Healthy, just a few ingredients, and a quick and easy preparation; this recipe is the weeknight dinner that the empty slot in your menu plan has been waiting for.
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 pound ground beef
1 cup Gefen Tomato Juice
8 ounces Gefen Tomato Sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic, crushed or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
6 ounces sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup water
2 bay leaves or 1 teaspoon oregano
In a six-quart pot, sauté onion in oil until transparent.
Add pepper and beef and sauté for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add sauces, spices, garlic and mushrooms. Simmer for 45 minutes.
Dissolve flour in water and pour into the sauce; add the bay leaves.
Cook until thickened. Pour over spaghetti.
