This recipe dispels the myth that baking a burger would produce a dry patty with weak flavor. I assure you that these are most definitely juicy, tender, and flavorful. Nobody will guess that they weren’t grilled.
Yield: 5 large burgers
1 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons quality barbecue sauce, such as Gefen
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon Gefen Salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Gefen Onion Powder
Preheat oven to the broil setting. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set aside.
In a bowl, combine beef with barbecue sauce, egg yolk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Divide mixture into five burgers and place on the prepared baking sheet. Broil on high for five to six minutes per side, until golden brown.
