Chanukah Spudnuts (Potato Donuts)

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 2 cups of hot mashed potatoes (peel about 4 potatoes, place in pot with water, bring to a boil, potatoes are ready when they’re soft enough to stick a fork through)

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1 cup milk/parve milk

  • 2 tablespoons butter/margarine

  • 5 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • flour, to make soft dough

Directions

Prepare the Chanukah Spudnuts

1.

Mix all ingredients together besides for flour.

2.

Add flour cup by cup until a soft dough is formed.

3.

Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thick.

4.

Cut into donut-size circles with a smaller circle cut out of the middle.

5.

Fry in oil (360-375 degrees Fahrenheit).

Notes:

The potatoes keep the dough soft. *best fresh*
