Arrow

Can’t find this nostalgic confection at the bakery? Try making this homemade version yourself! With 3 simple ingredients, create your own marzipan in just a few minutes. Fill with your favorite rumball recipe, freeze, slice, and dip the sides at your convenience. This is an elegant recipe that is easy to make, and one that everyone will love!

Directions

Prepare the Chocolate-Filled Marzipan Bars

1.

Combine ingredients for dough, knead to form soft dough.

2.

Divide into 10 to 12 parts.

3.

Place dough between two pieces of plastic. Roll to 15 inches long, one and a half inches wide and one-eighth inch thick. Form thin log of filling and place in center of strip. Fold dough over, place seam-side down onto cookie sheet and freeze for two to three hours.

4.

Cut into one-and-a-half-inch bars. Dip both ends into melted baking chocolate.

Notes:

This is an elegant, delicious, non-bake pastry for simchas. It freezes very well and can be done in the span of a few days; one day the dough, leave it refrigerated, and later the filling. Freeze and dip them at your convenience.
