Follow these simple directions to prepare a hummus appetizing platter. Enjoy the popular Middle Eastern chickpea spread with pita chips or cut vegetables, or spread it on your challah. For more great ideas, watch Shortcuts by Family Table!
2 cups cooked chickpeas plus 1/2 cup reserved cooking water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 cloves garlic or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
1/2 tablespoon Pereg Cumin
1 cup Mighty Sesame Tahini
1/2 cup Gefen Ready-to-Eat Chickpeas or additional cooked chickpeas
Gefen Olive Oil, for drizzling
1/4 cup chopped parsley
Place all the hummus ingredients except the cooking water in a food processor and blend till smooth. Add the water gradually until you reach the desired consistency.
With a tablespoon, spread the hummus in circular fashion on a plate. Place chickpeas in the center, drizzle with tahini, olive oil and chopped parsley.
