Diets Simple, one-bowl, and delicious — what’s not to love?
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon Haddar Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Gefen Baking Soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
dash of salt
1/2 cup oil
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoons vanilla sugar
2 tablespoons coffee, diluted in 1 cup hot water
1 and 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
Mix all ingredients until smooth.
Spread into a 16- x 10-inch baking pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cool and cut into 1- x 3-inch bars.

It came out like a cake rather than a cookie. I used ground almonds instead of chopped walnuts…Is that why it didnt work out?
Hi! I think these bars are supposed to be on the cakier side. Ground almonds wouldn’t have made the difference, usually ground nuts make a baked good chewier. Are you looking for more of a biscotti recipe? https://www.kosher.com/search/recipes?k=biscotti&nd=on
Delicious and pretty too We made these bars and swapped walnuts for half ground hazelnuts and half ground almonds because the kids aren’t fond of walnuts. Before putting into the oven, we drizzled chocolate syrup swirls for pretty effect – beautiful and delicious!!
