Start Cooking

Prepare the Salad

  1. Drain herring liquid and remove bones and skin. Chop herring and onion slices. Add pickles, mayonnaise, and half of grated carrots. Mix.

  2. Sprinkle remaining carrots for decoration.

Note:

Will keep for 1 week in the refrigerator.

Variation:

Add 1 can tuna and 2 hard-boiled eggs, mashed.
