Crispy Smashed Brussels Sprouts are a bold and flavorful side dish or appetizer that’s surprisingly simple to prepare. Roasted until golden and crispy, these smashed sprouts are seasoned with a zesty spice blend and finished with a drizzle of sweet balsamic glaze. Serve them hot, garnished with fresh chopped parsley, alongside roasted meats, grilled fish, or as a crowd-pleasing addition to a holiday or Shabbat table. They’re also great as a fun snack with your favorite dipping sauce.
1 pound Beleaves Frozen Brussel Sprouts
2 tablespoons Gefen Olive Oil
2 teaspoons Gefen Salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Gefen Onion Powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
checked and chopped fresh parsley
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Toss the brussel sprouts with the olive oil and the spices.
Spread the brussel sprouts in one layer on a baking pan. Don’t overcrowd the pan as it will cause the sprouts to steam.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven. With the back of a glass cup, smash the brussel sprouts until flattened.
Return to the oven and bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove from the oven, drizzle with balsamic glaze and return to oven for three to five minutes or until crispy.
