When Fridays are long and the Shabbos meal doesn’t start until late, we’ve got the extra job of feeding hungry kids (and adults!) throughout the day. These deli roll-inspired sliders will disappear as soon as you set the plate down.
Yield: 12
1/2 onion, sliced thinly
12 ounces pastrami, cubed
12 ounces smoked Mexican turkey, cubed
1/2 cup hot and spicy duck sauce
1/4 cup Gefen Honey BBQ Sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 (12-count) package slider buns
1/2 cup Gefen Mayonnaise
1/3 cup Glicks Ketchup
1 tablespoon mustard
olive oil, for brushing
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with Gefen Parchment Paper.
In a medium pot over medium heat, stir together the onions, pastrami, turkey, duck sauce, barbecue sauce, salt, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook for 10–15 minutes.
Holding the buns together, slice through the center carefully, cutting them all at once as if they were one big bun.
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. Spread over the bottom halves of the buns. Add one heaping tablespoon of the deli mixture to each. Cover with the tops of the buns.
Brush with olive oil and bake for 10 minutes, until the buns are toasted and crispy. Serve immediately.
