Growing up, this was part of our weekly dinner rotation. It’s quick to make, fun to assemble, and easy to personalize to your children’s individual tastes. Yield: 5 servings
1 and 1/2 cups rice
3 cups water
1 tablespoon salt
1 pound chopped meat
15 ounces Tuscanini Tomato Sauce or Manwich sauce
taco shells
lettuce (optional)
Haddar Classic Pickle Chips or other pickles, sliced (optional)
onions, sliced (optional)
peppers, sliced (optional)
Pour rice, water, and salt into a baking pan and cover tightly. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour. Fluff with a fork.
In a frying pan over medium flame, break meat into small pieces. Mix until browned, about five minutes. Add sauce. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.
Mix rice and meat together.
Serve in taco shells with your favorite veggies.
