Here’s a basic but delicious French roast recipe that we often make when we have guests at our meal on Friday night.
3- to 5-pound French roast
3/4 cup Glicks Ketchup
3/4 cup Gefen Sweet ‘n Sour Duck Sauce
1 cup chicken soup
3 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic, defrosted
1 large onion, sliced
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Combine ketchup, duck sauce, chicken soup, and garlic cubes until smooth.
Place the roast in a pan and pour the sauce over it. Spread the sliced onions on top of the sauce. Bake uncovered for one hour, then lower the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, cover the meat tightly, and bake for an additional three hours.

Beyond excellent and easy to make. The reviews showed every time on the empty platter!
Do I need to add regular chicken soup? Or is it chicken broth that I can buy in the store ?
You can use chicken broth.
absolutely delicious!
What number meat would this be in Israel?
I do not find a reference for a French roast, but if you are also referring to a Delmonico, it is number 1 (one).
