Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup milk

Directions

Make the Pancakes

1.

Mix first five ingredients until smooth. Add milk and mix well.

2.

Drop by tablespoon into greased, hot skillet.

3.

Fry over medium heat until golden on both sides.

4.

Serve with sour cream and/or jam.

Recommend using 1/2-1 tsp of baking soda.

can i put water instead of milk for milk allergies? i cant use almond milk as milk as well. i dont want to use soymilk it might make the taste a bit different. my kids wont eat it. will water make it too watery and tasteless? do i add more sugar ?

Thanks for reaching out with this important Q!
When substituting milk, it may lessen the creaminess, so I would either substitute with cashew milk or if you are going with water, I would add some more sugar like you suggested. With baking it’s hard to know until you try, but I think these options will get you started in a good place.

Just tried these pancakes and they were a hit!! (I left out the salt and they tasted so good)
Question: Can I add some baking powder to make the pancakes more fluffy?

Hi, from my understanding waffle batters have a little more fat and sugar than pancake batters. You could try it, but not sure exactly how it will come out.

Amazing recipe- very adaptable I made these pancakes with 80% whole wheat flour and almond milk- they came out fluffy and delicious and tasted dairy.
And they’re super easy!
