2 pounds cubed boneless chicken
4 cubes frozen garlic
dash of black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons lite soy sauce
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 egg whites
1 tablespoon cornstarch
potato starch, for coating
oil, for frying
4 tablespoons honey
6 tablespoons brown sugar
5 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons sesame oil
3 tablespoons sesame seeds
5 tablespoons soy sauce
6 tablespoons water
4 teaspoons potato starch mixed with 4 teaspoons water
Mix all the marinade ingredients together and let chicken marinate while you prepare the sauce.
In a separate bowl, combine all the ingredients for the sauce.
Fill a bowl with potato starch and coat the chicken pieces.
Fill a pan with oil. First, fry the chicken for two minutes until it lightly browns. Then remove from the pan and let rest for 10 minutes.
Then, fry the chicken a second time for another two minutes, until crunchy and golden.
Bring the sauce to a boil and lower until it becomes thick and syrupy. Add the chicken to the sauce and coat.

Can I bake this instead?
This recipe is not from one of our chefs, so I’m not 100% sure but you can for sure test it out or try another sesame chicken recipe from our chefs that have a bake option.
