Everything-But-the-Kitchen-Sink Oatmeal Squares


My mesivta boys enjoy grabbing one or two bags of these when they go off early in the morning, and it makes the Yiddishe mamme in me so happy! Feel free to add chopped dried fruit, chopped nuts, and even some chopped pretzels if your family is into sweet and salty.   Yield: 1 9×13-inch pan (approximately 20 squares)


Prepare the Oatmeal Squares

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients except the lentils.
3. Gently fold in the lentils, being careful not to overmix or the colors can start bleeding.
4. Press into a 9×13-inch pan.
5. Bake for 25–30 minutes.
