Ingredients

Base

  • 32 ounces frozen sliced peaches

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

Topping

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar

  • pinch salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 cup vegan butter, softened

Directions

1.

Stir the peaches, sugar, and almond extract together and allow to thaw on the counter or in the fridge. The sugar will draw out the moisture from the peaches and create a delicious syrup.

2.

Stir topping ingredients together until crumbly.

3.

Pour the peaches and their syrup into a cast iron skillet, spreading evenly. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the peaches and place on a preheated grill over medium heat. Close the lid and “bake” 25 minutes. Remove CAREFULLY to a wooden board – the cast iron skillet will be extremely hot.

4.

Enjoy immediately with parve vanilla ice cream.

Notes:

Oven directions: This crumble can also be baked at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 25 minutes until golden brown.

if you use fresh peaches, what adjustment, if any, is needed?

You’ll need about 7 fresh peaches. No other adjustments are necessary.
