Elevate plain old, boring rice with some herbs and fruits, and you have an amazing new side dish.
1 cup white rice, such as Pereg
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon parsley
2 tablespoons oil
2 cups water
1/4 cup fresh cleaned dill, stems removed and chopped
1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
1/4 cup shelled pistachios
4 Beleaves Dates, pitted, inspected for insects, and cubed
1 tablespoon Gefen Lemon Juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a small pan, place rice, spices, oil, and water. Mix and cover.
Bake for one hour until all the water is absorbed.
Fluff with a fork.
Let it cool for five minutes before stirring in the dill, pomegranate seeds, pistachios, dates, and lemon juice.
