This thick soy-free sauce comes together in just minutes on the stovetop, and is great as a marinade or as a sauce over salmon, chicken or vegetable stir-fry.
Yield: 1 cup
1/2 cup Heaven & Earth Coconut Aminos
1/4 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons Gefen Honey
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (use 1/2 teaspoon for a more mild flavor)
1 teaspoon garlic, crushed or 1 cube Gefen Frozen Garlic
pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon arrowroot powder or cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
In a small saucepan, combine coconut aminos, orange juice, honey, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook over medium heat for six minutes, stirring frequently.
In a small bowl, dissolve the arrowroot or cornstarch in the cold water to make a slurry. Whisk until completely dissolved, then add to the sauce and simmer four more minutes, until thickened.
Let cool and refrigerate in an airtight container up to one week.
