Macerated Fruit Salad with Crunch

Macerate

  1. In a large bowl, combine fruits, sugar, and lemon juice.

  2. Let sit between 30 minutes and two hours. Transfer to a large trifle bowl or individual serving cups.

Note:

To macerate your fruit, add a bit of sugar and acid. This draws out the natural sweetness and juices, creating a syrup which becomes a natural marinade.

Prepare the Crunch

  1. Meanwhile, prepare the crunch. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a baking pan, combine graham crackers, brown sugar, coconut, salt, and oil.

  2. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Let cool.

To Serve

  1. Sprinkle crunch over fruit just before serving.
