This recipe happened by accident. It was dinnertime and I realized I was out of barbecue sauce, so I threw together a few ingredients I had in the fridge and a star was born. I’ve tweaked it since and it’s delicious on literally everything!
1/4 cup Glicks Ketchup
1 tablespoon Manischewitz Honey
2 cloves garlic or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
1 tablespoon Glicks Soy Sauce
1 mango, peeled and pitted (or 1 cup Beleaves frozen mango)
1/2 cup Gefen BBQ Sauce
12 chicken drumsticks, rinsed, dried, and trimmed of excess fat
Place all sauce ingredients into blender and blend until smooth. Place drumsticks in a large freezer bag and pour three-quarters of sauce over them. Seal bag and place in refrigerator for two hours or more. Reserve remaining sauce in a container for later.
When ready to cook, preheat grill to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Lower flame to medium. Turn off one burner and place chicken skin-side down on the grill over the burner that is turned off. Close the lid of the grill and cook chicken for 10 to 15 minutes. Flip over and repeat on the other side for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, brushing with reserved sauce two to three minutes before done.
