Diets Sauteed onions provide the flavor in this mock chopped liver, while mashed egg and ground almonds provide the texture. This recipe for the classic Jewish appetizer makes enough to feed a crowd!
3 pounds onions (about 9 large), diced
oil, for sauteing
15 eggs, hard boiled and mashed
1 and 1/2 pounds Gefen Ground Almonds, roasted
2 teaspoons salt
Sauté onions in liberal amounts of oil until golden.
Combine onions with all remaining ingredients and mix well.
Adjust salt to taste.
