Sauteed onions provide the flavor in this mock chopped liver, while mashed egg and ground almonds provide the texture. This recipe for the classic Jewish appetizer makes enough to feed a crowd!
3 pounds onions (about 9 large), diced
oil, for sauteing
15 eggs, hard boiled and mashed
1 and 1/2 pounds Gefen Ground Almonds, roasted
2 teaspoons salt
Sauté onions in liberal amounts of oil until golden.
Combine onions with all remaining ingredients and mix well.
Adjust salt to taste.
