No-Oil Latka-Waffle

  • 1 kilogram potatoes, peeled and finely grated

  • 1 medium onion, coarsely grated

  • 2 whole eggs

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • pepper, to taste

Directions

Prepare the Latka-Waffle

Mix all the ingredients very well. Let it stand for about 20 minutes. After about 20 minutes, drain any excessive liquid from the mixture.

Meanwhile, preheat the waffle-machine. When it is hot, you could grease the waffle-maker with any type of oil spray. But I made it without any and it came out perfect. Fill the waffle compartment very packed with the mixture and close the machine. Make sure to also fill the edges very well, so that the shape should be perfectly square.

Check after five minutes if it’s ready or if it needs an additional one to two minutes.
