Diets Those who strictly abstain from almost all processed foods over Pesach can’t have their usual dairy coffee or smoothie. Solution for the coffee? Drink it black. Solution for the smoothie? Use an avocado in place of the yogurt and milk. Bonus: You can now have your creamy smoothie after a meaty meal.
Yield: 16 ounces
1 ripe avocado, peeled and pit removed
2 large bananas, peeled, cut into chunks, and frozen
1/2 cup almonds, optional (omit to avoid a grainy texture)
1/2 cup Beleaves Frozen Pineapple, chopped (or apples, kiwi, or mangoes)
3 tablespoons Gefen Lemon Juice
3 Beleaves Dates (optional)
In a blender or food processor, blend avocado, bananas, almonds (if using), pineapple, lemon juice, and dates (if using) until smooth.
