Caramelized pears are deliciously sweet. The cinnamon will fill your kitchen with an irresistible scent.
3 pears, peeled and chunked
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 tablespoon cinnamon
2 cups flour
1 cup margarine (use soy-free, if needed)
3 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon Haddar Baking Powder
Heat sugar in a large frying pan until it turns a very clear caramel color.
Add the pears and cinnamon and mix for a few minutes. If large chunks of sugar have formed, don’t worry — they’ll dissolve during the cooking process.
Let cool.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
Blend all dough ingredients in a food processor until a very soft dough is formed.
Spoon into a greased, nine-inch round pan. Sprinkle the pear chunks on top and press them into the dough a bit.
Bake for 40 minutes, until the cake separates from the sides of the pan.
