Submitted by Sarah F. Infused with sweet and peppery flavors, this salmon evokes wonderful aromas and even more wonderful memories. With a minimal amount of prep, and literally 20 minutes of baking time, this gourmet pepper crusted salmon can be served up in no time! For me, the best part about this salmon is that there are no measurements to worry about! That means that I can simply season according to my taste of the day, without having any dirty kitchen utensils involved. When I’m in the mood of making this salmon into a meal, I simply toss a quick garden salad to the side, and add toasted nuts and fresh snap peas (to amp up the crunch factor). I then drizzle some of my favorite ready-made dressings, and add the salmon fillet on top. Voila! A dinner that’s fast, delicious, and worthy of being called my “signature dish.”
salmon fillet (varies according to how much you need)
pure maple syrup (be generous:)
garlic powder
salt
coarsely ground black pepper
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Wash and pat dry the salmon fillets and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Liberally drench the salmon with maple syrup, and sprinkle with garlic powder and salt to taste. Grind fresh black peppercorns on top (or use ready coarsely ground black pepper) until fully coated.
Place in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes until bubbling (fish should flake easily at this point).
Remove from the oven and serve.
