Shepherd's Pie

Chopped meat and sautéed onions sandwiched between two layers of luscious mashed potatoes.

Ingredients (11)

Potato Layer

Meat Layer

Start Cooking

Prepare the Pie

  1. Combine all ingredients for potato layer.
  2. Place half of mixture into greased 9- x 13-inch pan.

  3. Combine ingredients for meat layer. Spread over potatoes.

  4. Spread remaining potatoes over meat.  Spoon gravy over pie.

  5. Bake uncovered at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour.

    Do you need to cook the meat before placing on potatoes?

    No, the recipe does not say so. If you're worried the meat is not going to cook you can, however, I think the meat would cook in an hour.
