I always appreciate a vegetarian option at an all-meat Chanukah party. These mushrooms are super easy to prepare and are great for a crowd. They also make an excellent weekday side dish!
Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius).
Combine crushed garlic, brown sugar, and spices.
Trim mushroom stems and rinse well in cold water, then drain and pat dry.
Toss mushrooms with olive oil, then toss in spice mix.
Lay out onto a Gefen Parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
Serve on cocktail toothpicks or stack two on a small skewer.
Tips:
Heard the old rule that mushrooms should never be washed? Never say never. Alton Brown put that myth to rest in March 2000, when he determined that the minuscule amount of water absorbed per mushroom is small enough to not have an overall effect on the dish. So wash away!
