Granola is widely available, but the store-bought version is often loaded with honey or date syrups, making it high in carbs. I always keep a batch of this simple granola in my pantry, and it’s a favorite with my husband and kids!
3 and 1/4 cups old-fashioned oats
2 cups sunflower seeds
1 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup xylitol or stevia
3 tablespoons oil, such as Manischewitz Grapeseed Oil
First, preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
Then put old-fashioned oats, sunflower seeds, slivered almonds, and xylitol or stevia on a baking sheet. (Skip or cut down on the xylitol or stevia if you can.) Drizzle with oil and toss to coat evenly.
Roast for 20 minutes, then remove the pan from the oven, stir everything well, and return to the oven for another 10 minutes.
When done, allow to cool completely, then store in an airtight container — it likely won’t last long, though!
