What about the hot water in the ingredients? No more mention in the directions. Im confused?
You should add the hot water with everything else in step 1
what can i use instead of sumac?
There is no exact substitute for sumac, it does have a tangy flavor so you could add some lemon zest or you could try a different spice. I’ve also made pickled onions without any spice and they come out delicious!
Can I use something to sub the Apple cider vinegar ? And can I replace the sugar with honey?
I’ve made pickled vegetables with white distilled vinegar and it came out great! I’ve never tried replacing the sugar for honey but it should work. I would dissolve the honey in hot water first.
So good !!! A staple that we always keep in our fridge
can I use stevia?
Yes, you should be able to.
How long do I wait before serving?
Ideally you should let them marinate for 48 hours.
