Waffles are the most common dessert in Sweden during the winter months. Anyone who tastes these will understand why. With cloudberry jam and lightly whipped cream, they not only wake up your palate but also bring back childhood memories.

Ingredients

Swedish Waffles

  • 75 grams (2 and 3/4 ounces) butter

  • 200 milliliters (7 fluid ounces) cold, carbonated water

  • 240 grams (8 and 1/2 ounces) plain (all-purpose) flour, such as Glicks

  • 300 milliliters (10 fluid ounces) thick (double/heavy) cream

  • butter, for cooking

Directions

Prepare Swedish Waffles

1.

Melt the butter and let it cool.

2.

Whisk the water and flour together. Stir in the butter.

3.

Whip the cream and carefully fold it into the batter.

4.

Heat up the waffle iron and cook the waffles, brushing the iron with a little butter between each batch.

5.

Serve the waffles with jam and lightly whipped cream.
