Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Meatballs

  • 2.2 pounds (1 kilogram) fresh ground beef, or 1 pound (1/2 kilogram) beef and 1 pound (1/2 kilogram) ground turkey

  • 1 egg + 1 yolk

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions

For the Meatballs

1.

In a bowl, combine the ground beef with the eggs and seasoning.

In a medium pot, sauté the onion and garlic until golden brown. Add the tomato paste, lemon juice, water, and xylitol. Simmer for seven minutes.

3.

Form the meat into golf-sized balls and add to the pot. Cover and cook over low heat for one to one and a half hours.
