An easy supper that’s a favorite in everyone’s home. It’s so easy to prepare and can be very filling when served with whole grain rice or your favorite Passover-friendly starch.
2.2 pounds (1 kilogram) fresh ground beef, or 1 pound (1/2 kilogram) beef and 1 pound (1/2 kilogram) ground turkey
1 egg + 1 yolk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
oil, for sautéing
2 onions, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped or 1 cube Gefen Frozen Garlic
12 ounces (355 milliliters) Gefen Tomato Paste
3 tablespoons Gefen Lemon Juice
3 cups water
6 tablespoons Health Garden Xylitol
In a bowl, combine the ground beef with the eggs and seasoning.
In a medium pot, sauté the onion and garlic until golden brown. Add the tomato paste, lemon juice, water, and xylitol. Simmer for seven minutes.
Form the meat into golf-sized balls and add to the pot. Cover and cook over low heat for one to one and a half hours.
