The Ritz Meat Pizza

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 ounce yeast

  • 1/4 cup warm water

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 5 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 and 1/2 cups flour

  • 3/4 cup apple or orange juice

Filling

  • 2 large onions, diced

  • 1 and 1/2 pounds ground beef, turkey or chicken

  • 8 ounces Gefen Tomato Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon pizza spices

  • 1 green pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced

  • 1/2 bunch broccoli, thinly sliced

Directions

Dough

1.

Dissolve yeast in water. Combine all dough ingredients and knead to a soft dough.

2.

Roll out on well floured surface. Place onto cookie sheet.  

Filling

1.

Sautee onions in oil and add ground beef. Stir fry over low heat for 25-30 minutes, stirring frequently.

2.

Combine tomato sauce and pizza spices. Spread liberally onto dough. Pour meat mixture over dough.

3.

Saute vegetables until limp and distribute evenly over pizza.

4.

Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes.

the dough needs to b baked before topping it.
