Ingredients

Toasty bread

  • 4 ½ cups flour

  • 1 TBSP sugar

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2 ½ tsp active dry yeast

  • 4 garlic cubes

  • 4 basil cubes

  • ⅓ cup olive oil

  • 1 ½ cup warm water

  • olive oil for smearing

1.

mix first 4 ingredients without mixer

2.

add garlic and basil cubes and mix

3.

make well in center and add olive oil and water

4.

mix with a spoon until a dough forms

5.

mix by hand for another 2 minutes

6.

let rise for ½ hour

7.

roll out dough on counter as thin as possible without making holes

8.

put on cooling rack

9.

smear 1 side with olive oil

10.

turn fire on low and keep moving bread and rack around

11.

Toast 3-4 minutes until top blisters – should be light-dark golden

12.

take off and cool.

13.

flip over and smear other side with olive oil

14.

Toast over fire again. should be a bit scorched

15.

cut with pizza cutter / knife
