Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 6 potatoes

  • 1 small onion

  • 1/4 cup flour

  • 2 eggs

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 6 ounces cooked, diced meat such as pastrami, bologna, salami

  • oil, for frying

Directions

Prepare the Yapchik Latkes

1.

Grate potatoes and onion. Let stand 10 minutes. Pour off liquid. Add remaining ingredients.

Lightly oil griddle. Drop by large spoonfuls onto hot griddle. Fry seven minutes on each side until golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
