Whether you bake challah weekly or once a year, this is the one challah you won’t want to miss.
Today Naomi is joined by Anat Ishai from Israel, challah mom and dancing queen, for a very special shlissel challah tutorial! We're using Anat's favorite challah recipe - which has been downloaded over 50,000 times — and the process is as beautiful as the result. Let's create this masterpiece!
Get the recipe:
Shlissel Challah
2 cups warm water
1 and 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
2 eggs plus more for egg wash
1 tablespoon Gefen Salt
1 cup sugar + 1 teaspoon for proofing
1/2 cup Gefen Olive Oil
8 to 9 cups all-purpose flour, such as Glicks
