OMG!!!!!!! THIS LOOKS INNNSSSAAANNNNEE!!!!!!!! IT DOES NOT LOOK KOSHER FOR PESACH AT ALL!! THANKS SO MUCH
It really does! Let us know if you make it.
I’ve always struggled with cholent on Pesach, thank you so much Naomi for this!! The potato starch slurry idea is total genius, so simple but I never thought of it def gonna try it this year iyH!!! Just thinking, could be we cant have the kishke with matza meal in on erev yom tov which is shabbos this year bc it counts as matza? Not sure I guess just a thought I had as I wrote this! If using the non gebrochts one I imagine it’s not a concern.
So now I’ll write once I tried this! It looked amazing but unfortunately it really didn’t work out how it looked. the potatoes all got stuck to the bottom of the pan and it just didn’t have that stodgy effect it was meant to. I thought it was just me but my friend had the same problem. shame! we’re gonna skip the cholent and wait until after pesach for regular cholent!!
oh, and about the matza meal on erev pesach which was shabbos; my husband checked a sefer and apparently if it’s cooked it’s ok to eat as opposed to baked like a cake with matza meal…so there we have it. of course you can ask your own rabbi for the next time this happens which is in 20 years apparently!! 😉
