Now that the holidays are behind us and weeknight dinners are starting to feel a little too… familiar, it’s the perfect time to shake things up in the kitchen. You don’t need to book a flight or roll out homemade pasta to bring new flavors to your table—sometimes all it takes is a few new ingredients and a fresh recipe to make dinner exciting again.

Greek-style dishes are perfect for this moment: they’re colorful, bright, and built on simple, wholesome ingredients like olive oil, lemon, herbs, and vegetables. From hearty rice and bean dishes to light salads and easy sheet-pan dinners, these recipes bring some Greek flavor to your weeknight routine—no passport required.

And while we’re on the topic of Greece, it’s worth noting that the country also has a rich and centuries-long Jewish history. Cities like Thessaloniki were home to vibrant Sephardic communities for hundreds of years, dating back to the 15th century after Jews were expelled from Spain. Greek Jews brought their own culinary traditions and flavors, blending Mediterranean ingredients in ways that still inspire meals today. So, as you enjoy these Greek-inspired recipes, you’re also tapping into a food culture shaped by diverse histories and traditions.

1. Halloumi Greek Salad by Rena Tuchinsky

Serve this delicious salad at your Chanukah party or as a lighter supper. Swapping the feta for halloumi in this Greek salad is so good that you’ll want to have it all year round!

2. Spanakorizo (Greek Spinach Rice) with Beans by Leah Itsines

Cannellini beans are a high-protein option for this dish, but you could also use shredded chicken, meatballs or chickpeas. It’s also lovely topped with a little crumbled feta cheese.

3. Greek Zaatar Gnocchi Sheet Pan Dinner by Sarah Lasry

I absolutely LOVE the combination of feta and zaatar. It’s delicious eaten plain together, or mixed into salads and dips, but when cooked into this sheet pan dish it’s just next level. It gives a warm, delicious, cheesy, full-of-flavor bang with every bite without feeling heavy.

4. Greek Salmon Dinner by Victoria Dwek

I love this dinner! It’s refreshing, light, delicious, and looks so gorgeous when it’s served. Plus, it comes together in the time that it takes to bake a piece of fish. The cool thing is that you don’t have to do anything major to flavor the fish or the grain (I showed rice here, but I also make this using quinoa…that’s what makes it a complete meal!) because the dressing takes care of everything! You can bake one big salmon fillet or have the fish cut into individual portions, or even cubes… it doesn’t really matter (just adjust baking time accordingly). Serve this on a flat platter and you have a dinner that can’t help but make your eaters feel special even if it didn’t take much work. Enjoy!

5. Greek Pesto Linguine by Bracha Waintman

A winning combination of Italian and Greek flavors.

6. Briam Veggies (Greek Tomato Vegetables) by Leah Itsines

I have to thank Yiayia Itsines for this recipe for Greek tomato vegetables. It’s a delicious side dish that’s perfect served with a lovely cut of protein and a salad.

7. Quinoa Greek Salad by Rivky Kleiman

An anytime healthy snack, salad, or side.

8. Greek Chopped Salad with Noodles by Jamie Geller

I love a traditional Greek salad, but it is not filling enough on its own for a full meal, so I added noodles and now it’s lunch!!

9. Greek Baked Sea Trout by Debbie Moose

This recipe is a favorite at my house and is a great way to serve any flaky, medium-thick fish fillets. Cover the fillets completely with the sauce to keep them moist. You can find good cherry or grape tomatoes year-round, making them a nice choice for the sauce. Of course, the sauce will taste best with summer tomatoes.

10. Spanakopita and Seared Tuna by Gabe Garcia

This is a Greek inspired dish where dairy is only used in a few of the components to create a light and refreshing dish. Spanakopita is a Greek savory pastry filled with spinach, lemon, and feta and covered in a crisply buttery phyllo.  It is a great complement to seared tuna. Click here to watch how he makes it!
