Oh, gift giving. Birthdays, rewards for working hard, goodbye presents- there always seems to be an occasion for presents. And yet, we are taken by surprise each time. What, oh what, are we supposed to buy?

Before you wrack your brain too hard looking for the perfect key word for your Amazon search, check out this list of tried and true ideas that have gone over outstandingly well with those on the receiving end. If anything, let this gift compilation get your own creative juices flowing!

Shani Seidman (CMO at Kayco Kosher Foods):

We like to do activities as gifts- so one Chanukah we did the train show at botanical gardens. That was a highlight for us!

Chanie Nayman (Kosherdotcom Editor-in-Chief):

My daughter asked for a wig to style because she saw an ad in the magazine for a wig/hair dressing kit. I found her one on amazon for $20 and its been keeping her busy for hours!

Leah Gottheim (Kosherdotcom VP):

My daughter absolutely loved this drawing set! She loves art so the variety of drawing implements keeps her happy and busy!

For boys- the kids smart watch I got my son for his birthday is out of stock but this one is kind of similar.

Rachel Kor (Kosherdotcom Managing Lifestyle Editor):

Once, my daughter was given a mermaid sensory box with “water beads”. You put the beads in water and they grow to like 100x their original size. It came with jewels and pearls…we hide the items under the beads together and play “memory” (“where is the blue seahorse?”). She can sit and play with it for a very long time. She loves it.

Renee Schwartz (Kosherdotcom Recipe Editor):

Feeling really lame over here, because my kids’ favorite gift last Chanukah was a backgammon set. Oh, and we bought a Toveedo subscription. That’s been popular!!

Raquel Malul (Kosherdotcom Marketing Assistant):

When I wanted to get something for my kids that was more than just “another new toy,” I found this really cute dinosaur kids’ bath bomb set. My kids absolutely love it! Firstly the soup smells really good and changes the whole bath color, which is always fun. Each dino egg has a little toy dinosaur inside and there are three big transformable plastic dinosaurs that my kids look forward to playing with every day in the bath!
